MT. PROSPECT, Ill. – January 29, 2007 – The Dremel brand ushered in a new wave of technology in North America when it introduced the first cordless tool powered by a Lithium-ion battery. Its Dremel 10.8 Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless rotary tool packed more power into a smaller space and held a charge up to six times longer than standard nickel- cadmium batteries so do-it-yourselfers and hobbyists could complete more projects on a single charge.
Never able to rest on its laurels, the Dremel brand has now given a power boost to the Dremel 10.8 Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless rotary tool by adding 25 percent more run time to the tool. The upgrade allows users to get more work done on a single charge and the increased runtime has been accomplished without increasing the size or weight of the tool.
“The Dremel 10.8 Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless rotary tool is ideal for people who enjoy making crafts, restoring antiques or need to sharpen a chainsaw or lawnmower blade but prefer not to restrict themselves to a workroom,” said Tom Vasis, Dremel group product manager for rotary tools. “With the new 10.8 volt feature, Dremel cordless rotary tool users can work longer and more efficiently without the need to recharge before finishing a project.”
Featuring a new 10.8 volt battery pack and dovetail feature, the tool also keeps many of the same popular features as its predecessor, including a soft grip handle, battery release button, collet, collet lock button and a power switch/speed control dial.
The 10.8 Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless retails for $69.99 and is available at most hardware stores and home improvement centers nationwide beginning in April 2007. It includes 40 genuine Dremel accessories, a charger and a molded carrying case.
