Featured Dremel Maker
Jamie Locke
Jamie Locke

Jamie Locke

We are consistently blown away by the talent demonstrated to us by Dremel Makers from around the world. This month’s featured Dremel Maker is Jamie Locke, who has been using Dremel tools to create beautiful pieces of art for over 10 years.

Jamie’s current area of work involves painting birch wood panels with acrylic and using a Dremel rotary tool with a flex-shaft attachment to carve mandala designs onto them. She most often uses her Dremel 4000 rotary tool with the flex-shaft attachment to make her carvings, which can take between 3-12 hours depending on the size. Jamie describes her work as a practice of “meditation and centering,” and she is frequently energized to work non-stop until her creations are complete.

Besides carving on wood panels, Jamie has also carved designs on instruments such as pianos, guitars and ukuleles. She credits the Dremel 4000 and flex-shaft attachment for making “carving intricate designs a breeze.” To see more photos and videos of Jamie’s creations, visit her Facebook page.

Replacing Ceramic Floor Tile

Replacing Ceramic Floor Tile with the Ultra-Saw

Still unsure what to get Dad for Father’s Day? The new Dremel US40 Ultra-Saw is a powerful 3-in-1 multi-saw that goes beyond the expectations of a handheld saw, and it would make the perfect Dremel Gift for Dad. Not only can it saw and flush cut, it can also be used for surface preparation tasks like removing thin-set mortar. Watch how the Ultra-Saw makes replacing ceramic floor tile a breeze when equipped with the correct blades and attachments.

Tool Skool Review
Dremel Fortiflex

Tool Skool Video

Last month, we had the pleasure of working with Tool Skool on a review of the Dremel Fortiflex Heavy Duty Flex Shaft Tool. The Fortiflex is the perfect tool to use for projects that require both precision and power including woodworking, jewelry making, power carving and metalworking. Brad Skaar, a prop maker and special effects artist from Tool Skool, put the Fortiflex to work on some of his props, and was impressed with the increased dexterity he experienced while using the tool. Check out Brad’s video review and see for yourself why the Fortiflex is the ideal rotary tool for detailed projects.

Hang your Fortiflex with the supplied bracket or the Dremel Workstation attachment.
