November 2015 | Vol 11 | Issue 11
Give the new parents, new neighbors, or newlyweds in your life a seasonal keepsake and commemorate 2015 with 3D-printed ornaments.

This project can also be found here on

Ornaments brighten up Christmas trees and holiday wreaths and can be easily created using the Dremel 3D Idea Builder. They can also be customized to add a personal touch for holiday gifts.

Tools needed:
Other supplies needed:
  • Spray Adhesive
  • Glitter
  • Ribbon
  • Wreath or Tree (Optional)
  • Pine Cones (Optional)
Step 1:

Begin by going to to download a variety of ornaments, found at "Ornaments" You can customize your own snowflake ornament by clicking here.

Once you select your image, adjust the size to fit onto your stamp block. Speedball blocks come in various pre-cut sizes.

Next, we cut a piece of wax paper to the size of computer paper (8.5 x 11) and fed it into our printer. Once the image printed on our wax paper, we carefully laid it on top of our block to prevent any smudging. Then, we used a brayer roller to transfer the image onto the block. You can use a rolling pin, apply pressure by hand, etc.

Step 2:

Once your 3D models have printed, apply the adhesive to them.

Step 3:

Add glitter to the ornaments for some holiday sparkle. Once the ornaments are dry, thread ribbon through the hole and secure it with a knot. Hang them from a tree or wreath, or give them as gifts for others to enjoy!
