MT. PROSPECT, Ill. – November 28, 2011 — The Dremel® brand continues to expand the versatility of its tool systems with the introduction of several new accessories and attachments for both rotary and oscillating tools. Compatible with the brand’s patented EZ Lock™ and Quick Fit™ accessory change systems, these quick and easy additions to the brand’s current accessory and attachment catalog allow users to accomplish more than ever in a shorter period of time.
“The Dremel brand is more than just our tools – we’re dedicated to continually expanding our tool systems with new accessories and attachments that enhance the variety applications the Dremel user can complete,” said Andrea Ash, vice president of marketing, Dremel. “These new additions enable users to tackle a wider array of projects with ease and achieve more in less time.”
To enhance the brand’s popular line of EZ Lock accessories, the Dremel brand has released several new products to help facilitate quick and simple accessory changes. The EZ Lock system eliminates the need for a screw and screwdriver to change accessories; rather, users just pull, twist and release. New EZ Lock Sanding Discs include the EZ411SA, EZ412SA and EZ413SA, all of which are designed to last twice as long and remove twice as much material as their non-EZ Lock counterparts. For the first time, Dremel rotary tool users can accomplish true surface sanding using rotary tool sanding discs. Each of the new sanding discs features a steel hub that eases integration with the Dremel brand’s EZ Lock Mandrel, making accessory changes faster than ever before.
An innovative addition to the Dremel brand’s rotary tool attachments, the A550 Shield Rotary Tool Attachment redirects flying debris and sparks while cutting, sanding, grinding or polishing materials – increasing the comfort level with which DIYers and professionals alike use Dremel rotary tools. Its compact size allows greater maneuverability while working on a range of applications.
The Dremel EZ Lock Sanding Discs are available at most hardware and home improvement centers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $4.99 USD and $5.85 CAD. The Shield Rotary Tool Attachment has a suggested retail price of $14.99 USD and $16.99 CAD.
To accompany the new, high-performance Dremel Multi-Max™ MM20 and MM40, the brand has also released two new, high-performance cutting blades. The MM480 Wood Flush Cut Blade and the MM482 Wood/Metal Flush Cut Blade both feature an increased blade length and width, allowing users to cut through materials speedily and with ease. Their sturdy design gives these large blades increased durability and both are capable of plunge cuts up to 1-5/8 inches in depth.
While the MM480 and MM482 Flush Cut Blades are recommended for use only with the new Dremel Multi-Max MM20 and MM40 tools, the new MM452 BiM Segmented Saw Blade can be used with all of the Dremel brand’s oscillating tools. Featuring a new design facilitating flush cutting capabilities, the new saw blade cuts through both wood and metal materials faster than other segmented blades.
The MM480 and MM482 Wood/Metal Flush Cut Blades are available at most hardware and home improvement centers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $17.99 USD and CAD and $18.99 USD and $19.99 CAD, respectively. The MM452 BiM Segmented Saw Blade has a suggested retail price of $21.99 USD and CAD.
